Shopping the Anniversary Sale w/o Overspending
Many women who like quality for a deal need help with shopping one of the most popular sales of the year. What sale is that? The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. By now you’ve seen a lot of content around the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. YouTube is particularly a huge space where you see people posting large lists or showing multiples of large shopping bags sharing what to get from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. If you’re one of the people that are wanting to stick with a budget and mindfully shop it is important to keep in mind practical steps to stay on track.
This post will show you how to prioritize your needs in the sale.
There are a lot of people that are on a no buy/ low buy journey. To each their own and there is nothing wrong with exploring ways to maximize what you already have. For the folks out there where you haven’t sworn to “no buy” this year just know that you can participate in a sale without going overboard.
If you need steps and strategies on how to approach the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale check out this post. Where I go through mistakes to avoid.
What did I get?
One of the items I prioritized was the Nordstrom Moonlight PJs. Now I understand that PJs aren’t exciting but if you haven’t tried these, you need to! They are soft, wash well, and feel amazing. They aren’t in expensive but they are totally worth the money. Why did PJs make the list. My goal for this sale was to only purchase items that I needed to replace. I was strongly considering purchasing the short set in April and decided to hold off due to me knowing they were going to get marked down during the sale. This is one of the ways you can help to keep yourself on track and not overspend. If there is something in the sale you were going to purchase at full price it is a no brainer to go ahead and get it at the reduced price.
Beauty & Skin Care lovers! Have you tried the Lancôme Rénergie H.C.F. Triple Serum?
Now you’re probably wondering, that’s it? Yes, it is! It seems odd that I am only grabbing a couple of things from the sale. Especially, when you see so many posts and videos of people with these large lists of items they purchased. Remember you have to live your life in a manner that works for you. Recently, I have been trying to curb unnecessary spending and I feel really good that I was able to talk myself out of 80% of my wish list. I still got items in needed and feel I did what was best for me. Let me know your thoughts. Are you participating in the sale? Are there any changes you’d like to make when indulging in the sale?
Identifying gaps ensures that every purchase adds value to your wardrobe. This approach promotes a more functional and versatile collection, allowing you to mix and match effortlessly. Don’t worry the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is not the only time you will be able to find a good deal this year. Holiday sales will be coming, and it is likely those items you weren’t able to snag now will be available again at a lower price.
Over the past couple of months, I have been trying to do better with sticking to my budget. It has made me feel more prepared and empowered because I am seeing results with the progress that I’ve made. Everyday tasks like paying car insurance and grocery shopping have gotten more expensive than it was a few years ago. Sticking to a budget to allow yourself some indulgences helps. We can for sure categorize shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as a want and not a need but that’s okay. No one said you couldn’t add extras. Just do so within reason. I decided to dedicate a portion of my miscellaneous funds for the month to restock products I am already using or was planning to purchase prior to the anniversary sale. Sticking to my budget, I was able to purchase PJs I had been wanting to buy a few months ago but decided to wait for the sale and a skin care product I love. It may not be everything on my wish list but that’s okay. I am walking away feeling accomplished because I stuck to my plan and the plan is for the future not right now.
