Frequently Asked Questions

Should I wear a wig liner? What is the best thing to wear under a wig?

It is best to wear a protective barrier under your wig to protect your hair from friction, pulling, and dryness. Most people are aware and have used a nylon wig liner under their wigs. However, a better option is something that will help protect and help with moisture retention while you wear a wig. Bamboo is a great option since bamboo has similar properties to silk, help your hair retain moisture and are more durable than silk. Bamboo is really good at absorbing moisture like sweat and have natural cooling properties. Check out this post to learn more about our bamboo wig liners.

What is a wig liner?

A wig liner is basically a protective barrier to smooth your hair while you wear a wig. It is a great barrier to reduce friction from your wig shifting and rubbing against your hair or edges.

Best hairstyle to wear under a wig?

In general, you want a style that allows your hair to be close to your scalp and smooth. The most common used style is flat braids. However, you can also pull your hair in low ponytail or use flat twists for less tension on your hairline. Check out this post to see more ideas for low tension styles for wig prep.

How do you keep a wig on your head?

There are a variety of options some are more favorable than others. You can use clips, wig glue, tape, adjustment bands, or a grip band. I personally use bobby pins because I can hide the pins under my headband due to me using a headband wig. Whatever option you choose make sure to take the approach to reduce tension and damage to your hair and hairline.
